The whole concept behind Mascotopia was born one night as a young father, Alex Babbidge, was putting his children to bed. Alex was singing college songs to his son, while a traditional musical mobile played over his daughter’s crib in the next room. It suddenly occurred to Alex that it would be fun to have a mobile that included plush college mascots and played the college fight song. So Alex teamed-up with a high school buddy, Chris Brigham, to try and bring their collegiate mobile to market. It very quickly became apparent to Alex and Chris that there was a much larger opportunity to develop and expand the sports licensed infant/toddler market beyond this one product. After almost three years of “going it alone” and working crazy hours, Chris and Alex realized that they would need help in order to stay ahead of the curve in this exploding market. So in May of 2006, Mascotopia joined forces with Hunter – one of the leading manufacturers of sports licensed hard goods in America (and a great group of people!). As part of the Hunter family, we remain committed to building and shaping the sports licensed infant/toddler market with creative products that make “great gifts for little fans... and the big fans that love them!
